Demo 31st March

CMPreform is holding a demonstration of its technologies in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. We will be showing the possibilities of preforming of glassfibre and carbonfibre. Further we will be showing electrically heated moulds. These moulds show steep heating and cooling characteristics which makes high volume injection moulding processes a reality. To top this of this we will be showing a reusable vacuum bag that is made entirely in the shape of the mould thus giving an optimal fit. The bag is manufactured using a water based plastic that is sprayed onto the mould where it cures. It can than be removed and used in production.
Please find the programme here.

Carbon-fibre preforms

CMPreform is proud to announce that it can offer the technology to make preforms out of carbon-fibre fabrics. Easy and affordable. To make a carbon-fibre preform one needs a preform mould and a suitable binder. We can offer 3 variants. A thermoplastic powder, a thermoset UV curing resin and 3 types of carbon-fibre fabric that has a thermoplastic binder woven into.

Composites Europe Trade Fair Succes

The Trade Fair, Composites Europe in Stuttgart, was a succes for CMPreform. Lots of parties have expressed interest in the preforming technologies. What was especially noteworthy that the ability to preform carbonfibre cloth met with serious interest. We are now developing this technique further for our clients.

Pentair chooses the CMPreform binder

Part of the preform technology is the special CMPreform developed binder. Pentair is a long time producer of preforms for its filterhousings. However the used binder is a thermoset that is environmentally unfriendly and costly. The thermoset binder in itself is not very expensive, it is more that to control emissions, there is the need to filter the outgoing air. Further, since the binder is a thermoset the filter installation needs to be cleaned weekly at considerable costs. More >
